ASAI Complaints Bulletin 11/3/4 

Adjudications of the independent Complaints Committee of the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland, on complaints in respect of 22 advertisements, 15 of which attracted complaints from consumers, are now attached.  There were seven Intra-Industry complaints. 

At their meeting, the Complaints Committee found 13 of the advertisements complained of to be in breach of the ASAI Code on grounds relating to truthfulness, principles, substantiation, health and beauty and slimming.  The advertisements complained of related to radio, sales promotions, outdoor, Internet, television and brochures. 

We would like to remind advertisers that the ASAI Monitoring Service monitors compliance with the Complaints Committee’s adjudications. 

Media members are reminded that advertisements found to be in breach of the Code, cannot be accepted for publication.
